No, this isn’t a mistake. I know April Fool’s Day is over now. However, I told you I’d give you another April Fool’s writing prompt today.
Here’s the idea: pull a “writing prank” on your readers today. They won’t be expecting it, because today it’s April 2nd. Of course, you can wait a few more days before you put the idea in practice.
This writing prank can be an article containing fake, absurd information about your niche, whichever it is. Alternatively, you can rewrite some parts of your blog, such as the tagline, sidebar items, your “about” page and so on. Just make sure to display a visible, easily accessible link to a page or post explaining that you’re only joking.
CAUTION: If you publish articles on someone else’s site, you’d better refrain from using this idea. If you publish on your own site or blog, you’ll be safer—but then again, it depends on your usual tone. Keep in mind that readers who are used to formal, impersonal content may not react well if you all of a sudden decide to play tricks on them.
Now that April Fool’s Day is almost over, it’s time to take advantage of it to create a brand new article or blog post.
How? It’s easy: research newspapers, radio shows, websites, blogs, forums and TV shows which have tricked their audience with fake news and the such. Select the best jokes and write an article about them.
Of course, you can also select the lamest jokes and write an article explaining why they didn’t work.
Tomorrow I’ll post another April Fool’s related idea. Make sure you won’t miss it: subscribe to our email updates or to our news feed.

Niche: marketing (advertising).
Is there such a thing as a “perfect advertisement?” If so, write a list of the top 3 (or top 5, top 10, top 12 etc.) elements a perfect ad must contain.
Instead of a list, you can produce an article series. Or a series of lists, each of them dealing with a different type of media (print ads, online ads, radio ads … you get the idea).
Don’t you think it’s possible to create a perfect ad? You can write about that too. If you want to avoid a too negative approach, tell your readers how they can make their ads get as close to perfection as humanly possible.

Niche: fashion (purses).
1. handmade / discount purses
2. purses collection / must-have items
3. purse designer / interview
Don’t you like writing about fashion topics? No problem. Leave a comment and let me know which type of article/blogging prompt you need. I’ll try to help you.
Niche: computers & Internet (computer security).
Write about the Conficker worm (also known as Kido and Downadup). You can write a before/after type of article, comparing the events taking place before and after the worm wakes up.
You may also write about the importance of Microsoft updates/Windows updates, since Conficker exploits a Microsoft Windows security issue.
Many people have been searching for information on “Conflicker virus,” “Conflicker patch,” “Conflict worm” and other wrong terms. Teach your readers the threat’s correct name—and the right ways to fight it, of course. Pointing them to effective Conficker removal tools is a great idea.
Computer security topics are so important, that it may be worth writing about them even when they aren’t directly related to your primary niche/industry. I’ll give you tips on finding a connection between apparently unrelated subjects in a future post. You won’t miss it if you subscribe to get All Writing Ideas’ updates by email or via news feed.

Niche: health (food poisoning).
It may be a good idea to write an article or blog about the recent “pistachio recall.”
All topics related to pistachio/salmonella are hot at this moment. You could write, for instance, about Setton Farms. Better yet: write a detailed article on the symptoms of salmonella.
Isn’t it the niche you write for? You can request nonfiction writing prompts on other subjects. Simply leave a comment and tell me what you need.
Niche: TV shows (One Tree Hill).
Here’s a quick nonfiction topic suggestion for you: “One Tree Hill series finale.”
You can also write an article or blog post about previous seasons (One Tree Hill season 1, One Tree Hill season 3 etc.). Or publish a compilation of One Tree Hill quotes. “One Tree Hill – Nathan and Haley” is yet another good topic that you can exploit.
